About The Artist

Meghan moved to Grand Junction in 2019 to explore Colorado. With her sense of wonder and great depth of perception, Meghan experiments like a mad scientist with flora and minerals, chemistry and technology, imagery and abstractions. Her multimedia investigations in nature and landscapes take form in multiple mediums including oil paint, alternative photographic processes, collage, and digital editing.

Meghan mainly paints with oils in her studio using her own photography and experiments as source inspiration, allowing bold colors and gestures to bring her perception of the environment and materials to life. Her practice is therefore part adventure and field study and part rhyming colors and shapes from the collected information into landscapes and abstract forms of nature.

“While I paint from photographs sometimes, I am less concerned with realism or accuracy than I am with portraying the 6th sense of perception with the paint. Painting, to me, is the resulting task of living a life with overwhelming attention to subtle patterns, optical phenomena, and an obsession with nature. “
