Empiracle Archive - A Field Kit For Botanical Processing

Art does not wish to remain the way it once was. Through chemigrams and photograms I explore the visual possibilities of a plant species using the darkroom as a laboratory. Residue and alchemical transmutation continue to change as each print ages and exposes, proposing the question; Can they ever really be removed from the constant process of reality? My attempt to understand the subject through processing is mediated by varying degrees of chance and control, observing how biological material changes the chemical properties of a light-sensitive process meant to record and preserve. Using art to pursue curiosity within material reality results in a physical truth, which I then chemically classify and archive.
